Under the old Bonus Commission, creators across the entire platform were ranked weekly by base commission: the top 30 got an extra 30%, and ranks 31 to 100 got an extra 10%. Even people writing short posts could make the cut if readers placed orders. The new version is only for “the top 100 in the livestream category”; text and chat are marked N/A. In its place is an Engagement Bonus, a weekly bonus pool that counts comments, likes, and follows, with interactions from active users weighted more heavily.
The pool’s total amount hasn’t been disclosed. The announcement says “Binance's sole discretion”—Binance has unilateral discretion. Interactions have been assigned a price, but the price list isn’t in creators’ hands.
Livestream bonuses are clearly spelled out: ranks 1–30 get an extra 30% to 50%, and ranks 31–100 get an extra 10% to 30%. The settlement schedule hasn’t changed: Monday 00:00 UTC to Sunday 23:59 UTC, with USDC paid by 23:59 UTC the following Thursday.
The rules also close off ways to game engagement. Engagement from mutual-follow and mutual-like groups, accounts under the same parent account, accounts using the same device or IP address, and financially linked accounts doesn’t count. Bot-generated engagement doesn’t count, and neither do likes that are later withdrawn or follows that are later undone. The same reader counts only once per post, and following the same person counts only once per week. Last week’s rewards will still be calculated under the old rules and paid on October 21.
Here’s the key point: the platform is starting to pay for “staying” rather than just “placing orders.” But the size of the pool and the weighting aren’t public. Creators can only treat engagement as an outcome, not a metric to game.
