I first used Claude around March or April.
My first impression was, “Holy crap, this is incredible!” It was the smartest thing I’d ever seen, and it understood programmers better than anything else. It was practically our savior! At the same time, it was also going to put a whole lot of programmers with outdated mindsets out of work.
Back then, I was using a proxy service. I used it for about a month, and my only takeaway was that it was way too expensive. A single conversation would usually cost at least 1 yuan, and sometimes the cache didn’t get hit very often. And that was even though I was using a channel that charged just 10% of the regular price—it was still too expensive for me.
Later, I started looking into how to use it without getting my account banned. I studied, asked around, and tested all sorts of things until I found a way. So far, it’s been able to reliably get around Claude’s risk-control mechanisms (the article is pinned at the top of my homepage).
In this age of AI for everyone, I sincerely recommend that everyone embrace AI—maybe even go ALL IN. I know a lot of people go from idolizing it, to doubting it, to finally seeing it for what it is. But as long as you keep learning, AI will absolutely be your most incredible assistant—bar none. It can solve 99.9% of the problems that fall within our knowledge and understanding (excluding things like scientific research, which ordinary people like us don’t usually deal with). So this is both a time of crisis and an opportunity. In the past, only programmers could develop software, but now coding isn’t a problem. As long as you have ideas of your own, you can build anything!!!
Everyone can be a product manager, and everyone can be a real BOSS!!
Keep at it, young people! I’ve always believed I can make money in this field! (Still making back what I lost on contract trading, hahaha.)
