【40.6M TPS—what does this number actually mean?】

Honestly, when I saw SUI hit 40.6 million TPS last night, I froze for a few seconds.

Why?

Because I’ve been through e-commerce flash sales that overwhelmed demand and servers getting swamped—I know that feeling when a system crashes all too well. Every time, you watch an opportunity slip away right in front of you, then kick yourself afterward.

Now these people are simulating high-frequency interactions between AI agents on-chain and have pushed TPS straight into the 40-million range. 40.6M—not a PowerPoint slide, not a theoretical figure, but the result of a real stress test.

What does this mean in practical terms?

It means that in the future, high-frequency use cases that once seemed unimaginable—AI agents calling on one another, settling transactions, and making micropayments—could actually run on-chain.

Who will this affect?

First, DeFi protocols that need fast trade execution. Then asset tokenization through AI + RWA, followed by in-game economies. I can think of at least three or four areas already lining up for this kind of infrastructure.

Does the business case hold up?

$ 1.13, support at 1.09, resistance at 1.17, and nearly 80% down from its ATH. The technicals are still looking for direction, but the fundamentals just dropped a bombshell.

This is the kind of moment that really tests you—do you look at the price or the underlying fundamentals?

My personal take: the market will eventually price in a breakthrough like this, but I don’t know when. That’s crypto for you—valuation recoveries never knock on schedule.

So my strategy is to keep an eye on ecosystem projects, not the candlestick chart. If the technology works, the business case can work too. The rest is up to time.

What about you? Do you think SUI’s latest technical breakthrough can become a reality, or is it just another lab result?
