October 6, 2026. The average USDT P2P spread in Venezuela stood at 5.09% this Tuesday, with a premium of 14.72% over the BCV rate (Bs. 872.39 per dollar). These are the figures shown by Radar P2P: a buy rate of Bs. 1,000.78 and a sell rate of Bs. 952.28, a difference of Bs. 48.50. The details become clear when you open the order book: the best sell price is Bs. 988.30 and the best buy price is Bs. 983.10, a spread of Bs. 5.20, just 0.53%. The gap between the two figures is nearly tenfold, which explains why the price you see on the listing page is not the price you get when you trade.
📊 The big number and the real number
The P2P Radar uses the average of the listings published on the marketplace. That includes both high buy offers and low sell offers, and the average is pulled in both directions. The order book, on the other hand, shows only the best executable orders at a given moment, along with the available amount and the minimum and maximum limits for each listing.
For this morning's snapshot, the book recorded 172 listings: 30 on the buy side and 34 on the sell side at visible price levels, with a buy volume of 175,727.57 USDT versus 79,178.18 USDT in sell volume. This 37.88% asymmetry is one of the factors the traffic light translates into Moderate Caution (score 69, yellow status).
The book's mid price was Bs 985.70, below the marketplace average. The parallel dollar rate, measured by Binance P2P, stood at Bs 986.14 (buy Bs 984.48 / sell Bs 987.81), with a spread of 0.34%. In other words, the USDT order book and the parallel rate are practically aligned, while the 5.09% headline figure comes from the average, not the execution price.
📈 Why the Radar spread is 5.09% and the order book spread is 0.53%
First reason: a mix of extremes. The Radar average includes listings that the actual order book ignores because of their prices. In the comparison by bank, the "Other method" group has an average buy price of Bs 1,031.10 and an average sell price of Bs 969.33, a spread of 6.37%. By contrast, BANK quotes a spread of 0.76% and Banco de Venezuela 0.87%. Averaging those different markets produces a figure that no trader sees when confirming a transaction.
Second reason: there is little depth at the extremes. The book's best ask, at Bs 988.30, has 4,324.40 USDT, with a maximum limit of 4,324.40. At the other extreme, the orders at Bs 1,019.99 and Bs 1,020 total just 363.98 USDT combined. These are real listings, but they're small: if the ticket is large, the price moves several levels.
Reference calculation. Buying 100 USDT at the book's best ask (Bs 988.30) costs Bs 98,830. Buying those same 100 USDT at the marketplace average (Bs 1,000.78) would cost Bs 100,078. That's a difference of Bs 1,248 in a single transaction. On the other side, the Radar calculates that Bs 1,000,000 would get you 1,050.11 USDT at the published sell rate.
🔎 Spread by bank: from 0.76% to 6.37%
The spread varies depending on which bank or payment method you choose. Here are the comparator's figures for today's snapshot:
Bank / method Listings Spread Score
BANK 13 0.76% 57
Banco de Venezuela 18 0.87% 64
Provincial 5 1.29% 43
Banesco 26 2.23% 82
Pago Móvil 34 4.78% 76
Other method 22 6.37% 53
Banco de Venezuela has an average buy price of Bs 990.88 and a sell price of Bs 982.37, accounts for 12.7% of measured liquidity, and appears exclusively on Binance in this snapshot. Banesco, with 26 listings and 18.3% of liquidity, has the group's highest score (82) despite a spread of 2.23%: more listings and a better overall reputation don't always mean a better price.
The Pago Móvil case deserves attention: it has the most listings (34) and the largest share of liquidity (23.9%), but also the second-highest spread (4.78%), with an average buy price of Bs 1,018.52 and a sell price of Bs 972.08. Mercantil has 5 listings and an average buy price of Bs 991.73, with no recorded sell price, so its spread cannot be calculated. Provincial has a spread of 1.29%, with prices ranging from Bs 992.22 to Bs 979.55.
An important operational detail: the listings show "Pago Móvil" and "PagoMovil" as separate entries (34 and 3 listings). When filtering, don't assume they're the same.
