Bloomberg Intelligence Chief US Interest Rate Strategist Ira Jersey told Bloomberg This Weekend that softer September jobs data give the Federal Reserve room to keep rates steady in October.
He said persistent inflation could still prompt policymakers to raise rates again in December and early next year, and added that strong economic growth and loose fiscal policy are helping push global bond yields higher.
