👀 Saudi Arabia has pulled out of the Chinese payments system that was competing against the dollar

💸 SAMA, the Saudi central bank, confirmed that it no longer participates in mBridge: the China-backed blockchain platform for central banks to pay each other without going through the dollar.

🎯 What is mBridge? A shared ledger where each central bank moves its digital currency directly to the other, without the chain of correspondent banks that today charges a commission and takes days.

🎯 It is the most serious attempt to build an alternative pipeline to the dollar system.

🎯 And this isn’t a small experiment: it processed more than $55 billion through January, and the Bank of China reported in July a cumulative volume exceeding 600 billion yuan.

Why does timing matter?

▪️ Saudi Arabia clarifies that the exit was planned and that its proof of concept ended in May 2025. But the news is only being made public now, amid the escalation, and days after an attack by the Houthis (Iran’s proxy group) on Saudi Arabia.

▪️ It’s the second weight drop: the BIS had already pulled out earlier.

▪️ And Trump has been threatening 100% tariffs on countries that promote alternatives to the dollar.

▪️ Meanwhile, the United States is deploying 100 military advisors to provide intelligence and support to Saudi Arabia.

👉 When you need Washington to defend your sky, you don’t sit around building the network that replaces its currency. The war has just put a price on de-dollarization, and that price is military protection.

🩸And now look at what Europe is doing

▪️ The EU advised its 450 million residents to keep at least 72 hours of food, water, medicines, and cash, and is building up reserves for nuclear, chemical, and biological emergencies.

▪️ Germany is classifying subways, tunnels, and basements as anti-air raid shelters, with a target capacity for one million people.

▪️ Sweden sent its citizens a survival manual for blackouts, air strikes, and even occupation. Denmark extended military service to women and increased it from 4 to 11 months.

▪️ Finland raised the military reserve age to 65 and is aiming for one million reservists. Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland have withdrawn from the treaty banning anti-personnel mines.

▪️ The UK is already telling households to store food and water in case of a possible war with Russia.

▪️Ukraine carried out the LARGEST DRONE ATTACK against Russia, reaching the country’s biggest oil plant.

▪️ The US B-1 bomber took off toward the Middle East from the UK.

🩸 And the economic front is already hitting: France has 11% of its gas stations without at least one fuel, with peaks of 16% in some regions. Diesel reached €2.38 per liter, less than 1% below its all-time record. Macron convened crisis meetings and is pushing the G7 to release strategic reserves.

📍 The full picture: JP Morgan warns that if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, global inventories will hit this month their operational floor of 6.8 billion barrels—the level below which pipelines lose pressure and refineries stop working.

📍It would be the first recorded time that the world is concerned about the physical availability of oil, not its price.
