ZEC (Zcash) is on everyone’s radar: it’s up 45% this week and hit its highest level since 2016. What happened?

The trigger was the approval of Grayscale’s Zcash ETF, which surpassed $500M in assets. The SEC also approved a Nasdaq rule for the Texas Commodity Trust, opening the door to more regulated products tied to privacy cryptocurrencies.

But here’s the interesting part: while Bitcoin is still trading in a neutral range (daily bias at 0, a clash between timeframes), ZEC broke structure and is leading the altcoin segment. Volume is backing it up, and open interest in futures has grown. This isn’t just hype—there’s institutional flow coming in.

Technical take: if ZEC holds above the weekly breakout zone, the rally could extend. But watch out: after moves of this magnitude, liquidity sweeps above (to catch stops) are common before consolidating.

The real question: is this the start of a rotation into privacy altcoins, or an isolated move driven by the ETF? The crypto market is in discovery mode. If Bitcoin’s bias is bullish on both the daily and weekly, ZEC could keep gaining traction. If BTC corrects, ZEC’s gains will be tested.
