The House Financial Services Committee passed the American Reserve Modernization Act (H.R. 8957) in a 28-21 vote, introduced by Rep. Nick Begich.

โ 20-year minimum lockup on holdings (~198K BTC currently held)
โ Quarterly "proof of reserve" reports + third-party audits required
Treasury and Commerce are also directed to study budget-neutral strategies for future BTC acquisition โ no fixed purchase target is mandated yet. The bill now moves to the full House.
