Lately I’ve been catching myself more and more thinking that this constant “manual” blockchain has already pretty well tired me out. I mean seriously, how much longer can it go on? Every time signing each transaction, checking that gas, switching networks… It’s like we’re on some 1950s plane where you have to manually turn every little screw while the rest of the world has long been on autopilot.

I came across the Newton Protocol, and I’m wondering— is it really a breakthrough or just another toy?

The gist is pretty cool: they’re proposing to get rid of this endless “tapping” of buttons. You basically set the rules, and the system handles the rest. Sounds great, because the cognitive load right now is just a nightmare. You’re not an investor—you’re some conveyor-belt operator who’s afraid to make an extra click so you don’t anger everything and send it somewhere it shouldn’t. But you set a goal, and it’s doing its thing somewhere in the background.

But right away, a question of trust comes up. We’re afraid to hand control over to algorithms, aren’t we? All these AI agents, “autonomy”—it sounds appealing, but somehow it’s a little scary to give your assets to some machine. Although, on the other hand, the human factor is the main reason for most of our losses. I personally have made the same kind of dumb mistakes just because I was tired or didn’t react to the market in time.

Maybe Newton is that bridge to something more adequate?

On one hand, it unloads your brain. Less fuss, more strategy. You just say, “I want to buy when the price hits this,” and that’s it—you’re free. It’s convenient. Even very.

On the other hand, I still don’t know if we’re ready for that level of autonomy. It’s like trusting an autopilot to drive on a road full of potholes: the technology seems ready, but the road— not so much.

It seems we’re just standing on the brink of a moment when we have to choose: either you keep being a “mechanic” and manually tinker with your wallet 24/7, or you try to trust the code. I’m still thinking about it. On one hand, you want the relief. On the other hand, the habit of controlling everything down to the last satoshi is still winning.

Let’s see what comes of it. Is this really the end of the “manual” period, or just another hype that will later deflate when we realize that automation has its own surprises? Who knows. @NewtonProtocol #newt $NEWT
