A guy ran an experiment
He posted in his circle: "Failed in business, 600k in debt, might have to start delivering takeout."
The result was disheartening—out of over 800 friends, only 5 slid into his DMs asking if he needed help.
His bros, who usually act all chummy, went completely silent. The only one who sent him 2000 bucks was his cousin, who usually borrows cash, with a message: "Hang in there!"
The most ironic part? A week later, he "clarified" it was a joke, and those who ghosted him came back to like and comment: "I knew it was fake from the start," and "Your acting skills are on point," etc.
In adult social circles, it's all about value exchange. If you're "useful," you've got friends everywhere; if you're "useless," the crowd fades away automatically. Human nature can't stand the test, but it's worth seeing clearly.
