Short and medium-term scenarios

After October 7 until these days, we have witnessed deliberate acts by the Hebrew State on Gaza despite calls for restraint from the international community including its legendary ally with no change whatsoever, and this raid on Doha portends similar actions in the short and medium term, if one pays attention.

In the short term, an escalation by the Hebrew State is possible in Gaza with a return of intense tensions, despite the denunciation by Qatar and Turkey characterizing Israel's policy as 'state terrorism'.
As for Washington, caught between its alliance with Israel and managing its Arab mediators, it risks losing all credibility with its allies.

Regarding the medium term, based on the above, future mediations will be more delicate, Doha may refuse any role as a facilitator. This position will reassure Israel to strengthen its military posture, at the risk of isolating itself diplomatically.

Thus, the United States will need to reassess its capacity to coordinate alliances and put effort into calming this tension between the two openly conflicting allies.
