The Indian Air Force (IAF) has temporarily grounded around 30 single-seat Tejas fighter jets following a runway incident earlier this month. According to reports, on February 7 a domestically built Tejas aircraft reportedly suffered a brake failure at an air force base, causing it to veer off the runway.
The jet sustained heavy damage and may be considered beyond repair. Thankfully, the pilot ejected safely and is unharmed 🙏
As a precautionary step, the IAF has halted operations of the Tejas fleet to conduct a detailed technical inspection 🔍🛠️
Tejas is a crucial part of India’s indigenous defense program 🇮🇳, and while this temporary grounding may affect operational readiness, it reflects the Air Force’s commitment to safety and thorough evaluation.
