Chris Dixon announced that a16z Crypto will become a16z Frontier and expand investments beyond crypto into other frontier technologies. Dixon said the expansion does not mean leaving crypto, and the fund will keep investing in crypto projects and supporting sound crypto regulation. The fund will also target AI, autonomous machines, integrated hardware and software businesses, and networks linking humans and agents. Dixon, Marc Andreessen, Ben Horowitz, Eddy Lazzarin and Guy Wuollet will jointly lead the fund.
