Look at what he said before: "Interest rates should be much lower", "If it were me, I would just cut rates directly". What does that mean? It means that after he takes office, the faucet might be opened wider!
According to CICC's analysis, when he is officially nominated in the first quarter of next year, market expectations will explode, and US treasury yields and the dollar might first take a dip, which clearly means making room for risk assets.
My view is very straightforward: this personnel change is paving the way for the next round of the crypto bull market. Why do I say that?
The expectation of easing is directly maxed out: Hassett is a "growth-first" type, and his goal upon taking office is to lower borrowing costs. With cheap money, those big institutions that earn interest from government bonds will have the incentive to shift their funds into high-volatility assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum for returns.
The regulatory stance might turn 180 degrees: this guy is not only Trump’s person, but he was also an advisor to Coinbase and holds a large amount of Coinbase stock himself. Think about it, really think about it. Can his understanding and friendliness towards the crypto industry be the same as these old guys now? The Federal Reserve under his leadership might execute the regulation of stablecoins like the "GENIUS Act" more flexibly, leaving room for innovation.
What should retail investors do now?
Don't just stare blankly at the candlestick charts; the macro situation is set. My advice is: starting now, use every panic drop in the market to accumulate in batches. Especially core assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as those with real applications that can absorb liquidity from the traditional world. Don’t wait until everyone realizes it and starts FOMOing in before you chase the high.
