The Ministry of Digital Affairs and Kyivstar have defined the basic model for creating a Ukrainian sovereign LLM - it will become Google Gemma 3 - an open AI model that supports more than 140 languages, including Ukrainian, and has multimodal capabilities. The Google Vertex AI infrastructure will be used for calculations.
The goal is to train the model on Ukrainian data and create a national LLM, controlled and optimised for local tasks.
