ZachXBT, the well-known blockchain transaction sleuth, has issued a serious warning regarding the Rain Protocol (RAIN) project, urging investors to steer clear of it after investigations revealed concerning indicators related to the project's financial activities and trading nature in the markets.

This warning comes despite the project boasting a massive market cap estimated at around $8.8 billion, placing it among the largest crypto projects by market capitalization.

Questions about the actual activity of the project:

According to ZachXBT, 'Rain' doesn't have a large user base or operational activity to justify its current valuation. He pointed out the lack of prominent backers for the project and the weak track record of the team compared to leading projects in the sector.

He added that the available data indicates a glaring gap between the project's massive market cap and the actual usage level of its platform.

The investigator revealed in his report that there are shared funding pathways between wallets linked to RAIN and other projects like Data Ownership Protocol ($DOT OP)$ and TOMI$.

He explained that network transaction analysis showed cross-financial transfers between wallets connected to these projects via centralized deposit addresses and intermediary wallets, which might indicate operational or financial connections between them.

ZachXBT backed his theory with a bunch of small transactions known as 'Dust Transactions' to support his claims of direct links between various parties.

The criticism didn't stop there; ZachXBT alleged that some wallets linked to the project's developers have been involved in activities that might suggest attempts to manipulate price movements on decentralized platforms.

He noted the use of liquidity pools in 'Uniswap V3' alongside financial transfers through intermediary wallets, which he deemed behavior worthy of scrutiny by investors and followers.
