What is Aster (ASTER)?
Aster (ASTER) is a decentralized exchange that facilitates spot and perpetual trading of cryptocurrencies and stock-based derivatives. The platform supports high-leverage trading across multiple blockchain networks, including BNB Chain, Ethereum, Solana, and Arbitrum.
The APX to ASTER token migration began in September through a 1:1 swap mechanism. This process marked the official transition to Aster’s unified platform, combining APX Finance and Astherus into a single protocol. The migration was supported by Binance Alpha, with APX trading scheduled to end by October 1, 2025.
Aster was formed through the merger of two decentralized finance protocols: APX Finance and Astherus. APX Finance launched in November 2021 as a hybrid decentralized and centralized exchange for perpetual derivatives. Astherus focused on multi-asset liquidity and yield generation. In late 2024, the two protocols merged to form Aster, combining trading functions with yield-generating features into a single platform.
The ASTER token is integrated into Aster’s ecosystem and serves several purposes. It enables governance, allowing holders to vote on protocol decisions such as upgrades and changes to fee structures. Token holders benefit from trading fee discounts and may stake ASTER to receive a share of platform-generated revenue. Part of the token supply is allocated to liquidity incentives and ecosystem development through grants and partnerships.
The total and maximum supply of ASTER is capped at 8 billion tokens, with approximately 1.65 billion currently in circulation.
ASTER is listed on Binance for trade and purchase. The current price of ASTER is available and updated in real-time on Binance.
