I’m 18. I’ve been in crypto since I was 12, but actively trading for about 6 months. In that short time, I made hundreds of mistakes that cost me more than just money. I developed Raynaud's syndrome, frequent panic attacks, and nervous breakdowns.
Total loss: $3,000+.
To some, $3,000 might seem like a month’s salary or the cost of a used car. But I live in a small rural village in Ukraine. In my reality, $3,000 is a fortune. It’s the kind of money people here save for years to change their lives. Losing this amount while my country is at war isn't just a "bad trade"—it’s a weight that almost crushed me.
It started with "easy" profits. I thought: "This is it. I’ll never have to work a 9-to-5." I even sold my successful Telegram channel because I chased the illusion of "easy money" I saw on social media. But I wasn't chasing Lambos.
My father died in the war. I was left as the "man of the house" with my mother and younger brother. My only dream was to make enough money so they would never have to worry about tomorrow in a place where "tomorrow" is never guaranteed. I started overtrading, "revenge trading," and ignoring every risk management rule.
I lost everything—not just my money, but money from my family. That hit me the hardest.
But I believe I’ve won. I haven't traded for over a month. I don't even open the terminal. I’m looking for physical work now to pay back what I owe (currently repairing a small cabin by the river to clear my head). I lost to the market, but I won’t let the market take my soul.
