Is the next step for DeFi just to find more yield, or to build a stronger risk infrastructure?
I’m not sure.
But, I think, here’s the real question.
Because over time, we’ve learned that the most sustainable protocols don’t always give the highest returns. Rather, those that make rules, permissions, and risk management part of the architecture from the begining are the ones that last the longest.
Newton Protocol is trying to address this area. Maybe it can be called a new coordination layer, maybe there are still many questions to be answerd.
But.... it’s not just thinking about transaction flow, but also thinking about what policies will apply before a transaction takes place, what authorizations will be required, and how those decisions will be verifiable.
Maybe Newton Protocol is moving in this direction. Then again, it could be that in reality it will be more difficult.
Because in the onchain finance of the future, it’s not just about moving assets, it’s also about moving trust.
Whether Newton Protocol can become that trust layer, I'm not making predictions now, I'm watching it unfold over time🤔
