Most blockchain comparisons are selling a narrative. So I skipped the promises and looked at what can actually be measured: throughput, finality, developer experience, and token ownership.

The numbers are less flattering than the marketing. Raw TPS gets tweeted about constantly, but it's often the wrong number. For payments, exchanges, and DeFi, finality is what you actually care about - whether a transaction is done, not just in flight.

I went through BTC$BTC, Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, TON, Sui, XRP, and APTM$APTM with that in mind. Governance and distribution came up more than I expected - not because they're flashy metrics, but because they tend to explain a lot of the other surprises.
