🚨 BREAKING: Iran Claims Draft U.S. Agreement Gives Tehran Broad Control Over Hormuz

According to Iranian State TV, which says it obtained the unofficial text of a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United States, Iran would gain extensive authority over traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

🔹 Iran would reportedly become the exclusive authority to classify vessels and determine which ships can use designated transit routes.

🔹 Tehran would have the power to set shipping routes, navigation rules, service fees, and security-related charges.

🔹 Ships could be required to submit cargo, ownership, and destination details for review, with inspections possible if deemed necessary.

🔹 Any vessel considered a security threat or linked to hostile interests could be denied access to approved routes.

🔹 The draft also reportedly includes U.S. commitments to provide Iran access to $12 billion in frozen assets within 60 days.

🔹 Iran says the text remains an informal, unfinalized draft and is still subject to negotiation and revision.

🌍 If implemented, the proposal could reshape control over one of the world's most important energy chokepoints, through which a significant share of global oil shipments pass. However, no final agreement has been confirmed.
